Community Outreach

Picture
This service is held on Saturday afternoons only. It addresses only the spiritual part of our Center and every effort is made to help you become closer to the presence of Jesus Christ. The music is radical, the messages are stimulating, and we encourage you to bring your Bible and a pillow if you like sitting/lying on the floor. It’s a sensitive place where the clock stops, and ministers and co-laborers are available just for you. No need for fancy attire, no special seating, or embarrassing moments. Just an invitation to enter, find a place in the room and RELAX! Here is one of many reports received weekly:

I was invited to come to The Clinic worship service by a relative. I am a church member and was accustomed to going to church, but a little uneasy about this place because of the name. I didn’t know what to expect, but she was so excited to bring me until my expectations were a bit high. All I can really say is that it was wonderful. The room was electrified with the presence of God and they made no mistake in rushing through anything. I left feeling restored and closer to the Lord.

Schedule: Saturday Afternoons 3:00pm

Fee: No Charge*

Our Visits to West Indies and Uganda East Africa

Through funds and labor of the Center and Wilma and the Messengers, many have been helped in foreign countries. They continue to provide direct support through benevolence. Wilma Walker was interviewed
and featured in M.I.N.E Magazine (2004) She was quoted:

My first trip was quite overwhelming. We decided to visit the remote parts of the world so that our giving would help the greatest. We had opportunity to stay in air-conditioned and better facilities, which would have been slightly similar to America, but opt to toughen it out. This decision took us through allies and roads not visited by many, the opportunity to touch the untouchable, speak to the abandoned, and feed many who had not eaten for days. One day we positioned ourselves under a small pavilion in a park and began to sing. What I thought were scattered brown limbs laying on the ground in a distance began to slowly move. They were not limbs at all, but men. Skinny, skinny, men. Many, if not all, dying from the various diseases of their poverty-stricken country. They heard the music and began to come our way. Weakened from their conditions, some could barely move. It was wonderful that we were able to not only clothe and feed them, but also minister the grace and hope of Jesus Christ into their lives. Many of them I was sure would not be alive for our next visit. It was bittersweet. That day I witnessed that a hug and piece of bread goes a long way. Their smiles and nods of appreciation I will remember forever. Love is a powerful thing and giving hope changes the heart of men.

When that particular mission trip was over and I returned home, I remember entering my house and feeling so fortunate. I was too glad to be home. I had just left hot, infested huts, limited hours of water, food I was afraid to eat, and lizards running over my head as I slept. But here I was now in my brick home, sitting on my plush carpet, and looking at my Victorian lampshade. I was truly blessed, but not at peace. For days the pictures would replay in my head of what I had left behind. I didn’t feel guilty for having all my stuff nor did I have a great desire to relocate as a continued missionary, BUT there was a burden that I could certainly do something more. I knew I couldn’t change the world, but if we could just touch it a little bit. If we could just have a family or village receive a little of what we enjoy abundantly every day. From those thoughts came An Evening in Africa. Our annual banquet to help others. A door and opportunity for other to give to someone else. Because of our efforts we now touch 7 nations and support the work of others who go when we are unable to.

We invite you to join in with our efforts and support the work of missions by supporting the Center and its Missions Outreach programs. You'll be so glad you did!

"AN EVENING IN AFRICA"
Picture
The nights prelude is that of African drums, dimmed lights, and a parade of guests arriving in colorful African attire. After enjoying a variety of delicacies, the staged entertainment is that of theatrics, creative dance, ballet and original poetry. Of course, the evening concludes with music from Wilma and the Messengers. It is quite an evening and opportunity to imaginarily step inside another continent. This year will you consider being a part?
